The Concert Band is open to all students who have at least a ninth grade playing proficiency on a traditional band instrument.  It is a performance oriented ensemble that performs the highest quality repertoire for wind band.  This class combines with the Symphony Band in the fall, spring, and summer to form the Gaylord Marching Band.

Rehearsals and performances are required of ALL enrolled students, including a full week of Band Camp in August.  All evening practices and home football performances, Alma Marching Festival, Traverse City Exhibition, local concerts [Winter and Spring], Memorial Day, Alpenfest Grand Parade, and MSBOA Band Festivals are required.  Enrolled students also have the opportunity to participate in District and State Solo and Ensemble, Jazz Band, and District 2 Honors Band.
