Honors Points
Choir members must earn 100 honor points in one school year to receive one honors award at the end of the school year.
FYI: (200 honors points for two awards, etc. If you are in more than one choir, you must earn double honors points for those two choirs if you would like to earn two awards.)
Honors Ensemble =Bronze Medal or Varsity Patch
Concert Choir =Varsity Letter or Bronze Medal
Women's Ensemble =Bronze Medal
Men’s Ensemble =Letter Patch
All-State Honors Choir =Letter Patch
Youth Arts Festival =Letter Patch
1. Members are responsible for turning in any honor points within TWO weeks of the time that the points are earned.
2. Early graduates and second semester students will be required to earn 50 honors points for an award.
3. Honors Points will usually be posted monthly or so.
4. Honors awards will be awarded at the Awards Banquet at the end of the year.
5. Members of the Men’s Ensemble will receive the member patch without doing Honors Point sheets.
6. Members of the All State Honors Choir will receive the members patch without doing Honors Point sheets.
7. Members of a selected Youth Arts Festival ensemble will receive the patch without doing Honors Point sheets.

a. Performance outside of a school day - 5
b. Performance during a school day- 3
c. Concert setup or takedown- 5
d. Extra rehearsal/sectional attendance- 5
e. Perfect attendance in a marking period- 5
f. Participation in Honors Choir (regional or state)- 10
g. Participation in Solo & Ensemble (per event)- 10
h. Private voice or piano lessons (per semester)- 10
j. Membership in church/temple or other choir- 5
k. Choir concert or Musical attendance with 100-150 word critique- 10
l. Section leader, librarian, techie, accompanist (per semester)- 10
m. Attend an approved summer music camp- 10
n. Cast or crew member of school musical- 10
o. Clerical support- 1 - 5
p. Member of extended choir tour- 10
q. Member of short choir trip - 5
r. Any other director-approved choir or music activity- 1 - 10 |
