Solo and Ensemble is a yearly event that students participate in. Members of Chamber Singers and Cantus Femina are required to be a part of at least one large ensemble, but have the option of working in other ensembles, both large and small or working as a soloist. I encourage students to be as involved as possible, as "S&E" is a great learning experience for them. As a part of a large ensemble, there is no cost to the student. If a student wishes to do a small ensemble or solo, there is some cost involved. This cost varies depending on event size and place.

| What is Solo and Ensemble or S&E? Solo and Ensemble is an extra curricular for most students. It is for students who are motivated to go farther musically and learn more about themselves and their voice. Students may go as soloists, duets, trios, quartets and larger to perform in front of a judge and recieve verbal and written comments as well as a rating and certificate. It is a great way for students to recieve feedback from someone other than their choir teacher. It is also a great opportunity to support your fellow students and watch groups from all over the region. So, GET INVOLVED!! |

District Solo and Ensemble Fees
$20 for a solo (sing two songs- recieves written and verbal comments and a rating)
$15 for a solo (sing one song- recieves written and verbal comment, no rating)
$25 for any sized ensemble (two or more, sing two songs, recieves verbal and written comments, choice or recieving a rating or no rating.) |
